Repair terms
This page describes what the website does today and is awaiting Husky’s review. It is not legal advice. Warranty eligibility, exclusions and claims, return shipping for unsuccessful jobs, uncollected devices and liability are added once Husky confirms them; nothing on this site should be read as a promise on those points until then.
These terms describe how Husky Tech Repairs ("Husky", "we") handles a repair from enquiry to return. They are written in plain English on purpose.
1. Opening a case
An enquiry opens a case under a HUS reference. It is not a commitment to repair: it is the start of a diagnosis. We may ask for more information before accepting a device.
2. Getting your device to us
We do not offer walk-in service. Devices reach us in one of these ways:
- Pickup and return delivery in the Brisbane metropolitan area. Priced by location; we quote yours when we reply.
- Mail-in (Australia-wide). You pay to send the device to us. Packing and address details come with our reply.
We cover return shipping after a successful repair.
3. Diagnosis
We diagnose before we quote. Diagnosis tells you what has failed and whether a repair is sensible; it does not guarantee that a repair is possible or economic.
Initial diagnosis is free. If a fault needs an advanced procedure that would be charged separately, we explain why and get your agreement before doing it.
4. Quotes and approval
After diagnosis you receive a plain-English explanation and your options. No repair work starts until you approve it.
After diagnosis we send you a quote. No repair work starts until you approve it.
5. If it can’t be repaired
Generally, if we can’t fix it, there’s no repair fee. Some repairs need an agreed attempt, parts or labour charge; if yours does, we tell you and get your agreement before any work starts.
If a device cannot be repaired, or a repair would not be sensible, we tell you with the reason and return the device in the state it arrived in, as far as the diagnosis allows. Some diagnostic steps (opening a sealed device, removing corroded components) cannot be reversed; we tell you before taking them where there is a choice.
6. Parts
We tell you which category of part we intend to use before you approve a repair.
Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the goods.
7. Your data
Repair of goods capable of retaining user-generated data (such as files stored on a hard drive, telephone numbers stored on a mobile phone, and photos or songs stored on a device) may result in the loss of the data. Back up anything that matters before the device comes to us.
We access only what the repair and testing require, and we tell you before any step that could affect your data. Board-level repairs on devices with soldered storage carry a risk to data that we explain case by case. We do not offer data recovery.
8. Warranty
Eligible repairs carry a six-month warranty, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
9. Consumer guarantees
Nothing in these terms limits the guarantees that apply under the Australian Consumer Law.
